Freedom to Pray for Freedom

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

This is the 7th weapon in the Suit of Armor provided by our Commanding General  Jesus Christ. Some will argue there are only 6 weapons in the Armor of God, It is my belief that Ephesians 6:18 is the 7th weapon. One only need to look throughout the bible at the many battles waged with the Power of Prayer to agree with this.

Today is the 64th Annual National Day of Prayer. Those residing in the United States of America need to remember that we have been given this freedom handed down by our forefathers because they recognized God the Father of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and YOU. Today we read daily news stories that challenge the Christian Faith...Challenging their rights as a Church, and Challenging their right to Pray Freely.  This is nothing new as Daniel had to face this battle over 2,000 years ago.......

We read in Daniel 6:4 that no wrong could be found with Daniel in  King Darius' Kingdom where he served.  The government officials did not like Daniel, and tried to frame him, but because Daniel was such an Upright man of God nothing worked.  So they had a law created that would set him up for failure. They pressured King Darius to sign a law that could not be revoked (Daniel 6:8). The Law that for the next 30 days any person who prays to anyone, divine or human except to King Darius would be thrown into the Lion's Den. Daniel knew this law had to do with him. So did he go run, and hide ?  NO!  Daniel ran to pray.....

Daniel went to his upstairs room (where he usually prayed (Daniel 6:10))...open the windows facing toward Jerusalem, and prayed....three times a day..giving thanks to God.  He knew the punishment for Praying....but he knew he had a Greater God then King Darius to rescue him.  Daniel knew the best way to do this was the Power of Prayer.  Later in Daniel 6 he is taken to King Darius for breaking the law, and  because the King could not revoke the law, The King thought so highly of Daniel he tried to find away out of this, but his officials reminded him the law cannot be revoked.  The King recognized that if Daniel would be spared it would have to be by the God he prayer too.  Daniel 6:19  shows that the King personally visited the Lion's Den the next morning and found Daniel alive.  Daniel's faith in God caused the lion's mouth to shut.  From that day the King believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and decreed that all in the land should believe in God.  Daniel was spared, and souls were saved !!!!

Daniel was set up for failure for being a God believer.  Today we are becoming more familiar with a nation that attempts to set up laws that will set Christians up for failure.  We must do what Daniel did, when persecution, false and otherwise comes your Pray--3 times, 4 times, as many times as you want (1 Thessalonians 5:17) to Jesus for your rescue.  Jesus; just like God will be glorified just as in Daniel's situation.  Let us live and be a model soldier just like Daniel.  The Power of Prayer works....remember that this National Day of Prayer, and then going forward.  We do this because just like Daniel, we to serve a Great God then this World (1 John 4:4)  Please read Daniel 6 the story is a great lift when you feel beaten down.
