I came upon this T.G.I.F this week do to a conversation i had with a fellow soldier and sister in the Lord, and one of my best friends. At her request i had been praying for her for the past 2 months in hopes she would get a work from home position from her job. She really wanted this to be closer to her children. So as i talked with her to get an update i find that she didn't get the job. I really felt bad she didn't get the job. I expected her to feel terrible. My expectations could not be more wrong. Instead she says "I'm o.k. another time...in God's time." She reminded me that we work through life....and wait on the Lord. I realized T.G.I.F. ! Thankful God Isn't Forgetful.
That is what Ecclesiastes 3 is all about. There is a time for everything purpose under heaven, and it's God's time. Our lives are busy...fast-paced--high-tech, on a time crunch and comes with a good share of disappointments. I, just like others sometimes react quickly to disappointments as bad timing and forgetting about God's timing. When we must remember that God never forgets us (Isaiah 49:15). If we don't get what we want we must remember that God has a good reason not to allow was our request at this time in our life. When we get no answer we should worship while we wait. It will be a sweet aroma to God and keep your mind off the request.
As you reflect daily on all the things you can be thankful to God for. Let us be thankful God is not forgetful. Especially when you gave your life over to him, and he promised an eternity with Him in heaven where he built a home just-for-YOU !! That is something you should never forget, and God's word assures us God as not forgotten you (2 Peter 3:13).
