Palms of Praise

               The Triumphal Entry
(Matt 21:11, Mark11:1-11, Luke 19:28-44, John 12:12-19)

The next day, the news that Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem swept through the city. A large crowd of Passover visitors took palm branches and went down the road to meet him. They shouted, “Praise God! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hail to the King of Israel!” john 12:12-13

This is day three.  One of the most important of the last 10 days of the Missions of the Messiah.  What a great day it is, as many are praising Jesus as King, giving credit for the miracles He has done (lazarus from dead, and much more). While Jesus was fulfilling  prophecy here while on the road to completing the mission of winning the war on souls.  (Zechariah 9:9).  There were  others  who began  creating  controversy, and there were some who either out right disagreed with Jesus here, or mis-understood what he was doing here. Todays would be a time of true praise and worship.

There will be two times in history when Jesus would make a triumphant entrance. Which makes it somewhat understandable why some were a little misguided ((why it’s important to read the bible)).

The Pharisee were a big group that  disagreed in a big way.(Luke 19:39-40)   In fact they tried to get Jesus to stop the followers. Jesus was declaring himself as God, and the Ph
arisees declaring him evil refusing to believe this was the Messiah. Jesus told them, that even if the people stopped,  nature would cry out this praise.  They didn’t want  anyone to follow Jesus, as they were selfish and wanted the people to praise them.  There was also some confusion when in history this was supposed to take place.  Some new that Jesus would be King for 1000. Years, and some understood He  was King of their salvation.   Many missed it was both, but done at separate times in history.  These are the two different times:

First  the Triumphal entry.  This time in history Jesus comes  to offer salvation, and  the people were right to say  Hosanna in the highest means= salvation from God. That time is happening right now.  There  were some, like the zealots (judas was a member) who rejoiced as well, they thought this was the time Jesus would destroy the Romans, take care of them as an earthly king in Jerusalem, and bring true freedom and independence for Israel. They were looking for a great warrior.  This would not be the time in history to be the warrior-messiah.

As I said earlier, there are two times in history that Jesus will make is triumpant entry.   For two different purposes.  First to bring salvation to all—to bridge the gap of God, and man—to cure the disease of sin that caused death.  To show by all His examples the true meaning of Love and how we should all live with one another.   Second reason Jesus would make a triumphant entry is found here:

Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war (Rev. 19:11)

This is where Jesus becomes the warrior-messiah that Judas is looking for.  Jesus this time is no longer offering salvation, no longer coming with the soft hand on the shoulder, but now coming to clean up the mess of the world, and put satan’s trinity where it belongs.  Then Jesus will sit on the throne in Jerusalem and reign the world for 1000 yrs.   (please read Revelation 19:11-21)

Not the Jesus we are reading here, and not the Jesus you will know today.  This Jesus; who is clearly master of the universe, road into town on a poor man’s donkey—that was a borrowed donkey.  This Jesus today is a humble man, a caring man, a loving man.  He is the son of man who has only one purpose.  To die for you, to fix the broken connection between you, and your father God. This is why he traveled this road today, and why a week  from now he will do it again.  All he is asking is that you meet him on this road, and open your heart to Him.  All that has happened for this week in Jesus life on earth was for YOU.  If you were the only one that could be saved, Jesus would still have done all this just for you.  There is no one person anywhere in history, that would or could do that for you, except Jesus.  Please don’t wait for His 2nd coming—ask Him now to rescue you.  It may not fix today's problems, but tomorrows problems, and it will give you a new life to come, the life your heart has always hoped and longed for but could never find.  You have now found it in Jesus….please take it….please start by clicking here Steps 2-B Saved Then  you can join the others in the Palms of Praise.
