Christian Soldier's Code of Conduct

As soldiers for Christ 2 Tim. 2:3-4 there is a daily-on going way we should conduct ourselves.  A way we should treat fellow soldiers (brothers & sisters), the way we should treat non believers which can and  is used as a testimony to Jesus Christ. Victories for the Kingdom...defeats for the evil one.
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with
tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.  Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.  And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.”Colossians 3:12-15
(1) Mercy or Compassion:is to share in the other person’s pain.  Our compassion should come from the “gut”, meaning we want to go through their painful situation with them. read Luke 10:29-37..to care for those that others wont.
(2) Kindess: in simple form= doing good to others!  To be affectionate to others in Love.   this goes both ways for the soldiers & the lost.  For the soldier i think it should be used to uplift them when there in a jam, a temporary fix if you will, different from compassion as kindness is a short fix as compassion is ongoing.
(3) Humility: A defining characteristic feature of a Christian Soldier.-it is to have the discernment to pick your battles with other soldiers. It is also to remember that we need to be less to make way for God’s  mission to be the bigger picture= souls saved for the kingdom. Model after Philipians 2:5-8 for success at humility. this might be the hardess one of these to master- some othe helpful verses: James 4:10, I Peter 5:6, and especially what Jesus did: John 13:12–17
(4) Gentleness: as a soldier this is not to be confused with weakness...it does not come naturally-christians must learn this. The best model i can say is go back to being a kindergarten: Share everything. Play fair, and say your sorry when you’ve caused pain. the american heritage diictionary describes gentleness as tender..to sum it up read Proverbs 15
(5) Patience: another test of a soldier’s character. You’ll use patience when suffering comes your way James 5:10.  We will need this when administering  compassion, kindness, and humility toward a fellow soldier in need. The bible tells us that hard times  & situations in our life will in fact perfect our patience James 1:3-4 making us better soldiers. This is my idea of a good code of conduct for a Christian Soldier’s life both on Base (Church), and out on the front lines (world).  One important piece is missing from each one of these codes: LOVE.. IT CANT HAPPEN WITH OUT LOVE!--
1 Corinthians 13:13 says the greatest of all is LOVE!!!
I want to thank Shirleyan Johnson @ hillside baptist for great insight that led to this...and thanks for teaching  & preparing God’s troops for the cause.http://www.hillside-bc.org
